Bystanders Help Cops Take Down Suspect at Bus Terminal

A physical altercation at a bus terminal in southwest Florida led to an arrest that was caught on camera, but this arrest comes with a bit of a twist.

Tampa police say they were called to the bus mall in the downtown area about a trespasser who had assaulted a security guard and one other person. When they arrived, they encountered Charles Gerard Kee seen on surveillance video.

Police say Kee refused to comply with their commands to stop so they could speak with him.

In their attempt to take Kee into custody, he fought off both officers. That's when a bystander walked over to see what was happening. After a few moments, he jumped in to help subdue Kee, and then others joined in to assist the officers.

Kee was charged with felony battery on a licensed security officer and trespassing.
