Couple Doused With Bleach in Armed Home Invasion: Miami-Dade Police

Police are looking for a man who robbed and poured chlorine bleach on a couple during an armed home invasion in Miami-Dade last week.

The incident happened the morning of July 7 at a home in the 8000 block of Northwest 18th Court when a woman returned from her morning jog and was confronted by the suspect, who was already in the home, Miami-Dade Police said.

The gunman forced the woman into the bedroom where her husband slept then ordered them to the ground and ransacked the home, police said. The suspect then forced the couple into a bathroom, where he doused them with chlorine bleach and later locked them in their garage.

Police said the suspect fled with more than $40,000 in property, including money, jewelry, cellphones and a handgun. Surveillance cameras captured him leaving the home.

The suspect was described as a black male, 25 to 28 years old, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 and 145-155 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
