Desperate Florida Man Dials 911 for Sex

Tampa man busted after he reaches out and touches wrong number

Emergency operators can help people with a lot of things -- life-saving techniques, catching dangerous criminals -- but a Tampa man found out the hard way that you cannot call 911 when you want to get laid.

Joshua Basso was in the mood for love but down on his luck Wednesday morning, out of minutes on his cell phone and only able to dial the operator for emergencies.

But instead of taking a cold shower, the horny 29-year-old reached out and touched the only person he could, the 911 operator.

After making several obscene comments about her body, he asked if he could come to her house for sex.

The operator declined Basso's advances, but he apparently wasn't taking no for an answer, and called back four more times.

The cops showed up at Basso's home a short time later, where he was busted for making a false 911 call. He reportedly told officers he didn't know he could get in trouble for calling 911.

As of this morning, Basso was being held on $500 bond.
