Dolphins Game Preview: Week Eight vs. Ravens

The Dolphins will look to make it four wins in a row when they take on the Ravens on Thursday

The Miami Dolphins will bring a three-game winning streak into their game with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

Matt Moore will be Miami's quarterback in one of the biggest games of the season. Not only will the Dolphins be in the national spotlight for the game, but 5-2 would look a lot better than 4-3. Beating the Ravens in Baltimore is never an easy task and the Dolphins will have their work cut out for them.

After pro-Moore chants from Miami fans, the veteran backup will finally get a start in this game. The decision was forced when Jay Cutler suffered fractured ribs in Miami's win over the New York Jets. Moore could now have a chance to take the job and run with it. Cutler was not performing well prior to the injury and Moore had success at the end of last season.

This could be the game that Jay Ajayi finally breaks out and it can't come soon enough for Miami. After running wild in 2016, Ajayi is averaging a measly 3.5 yards per carry in 2017. Baltimore has had trouble stopping opposing running games and Miami could lean on Ajayi heavily in this game. In 2016, Ajayi eclipsed 200 yards in three separate games. This match up could give him his first chance to reach that total this season.

DeVante Parker's ankle continues to be an issue, but the wide receiver may suit up for this game. After missing two contests, Parker participated in some practice this week. While the practice time was limited, Parker's made some progress and he is officially listed as questionable. If Parker can't go, Jarvis Landry figures to be Moore's top target in the game.

The Dolphins have enjoyed solid defense for the most part this season and have also had a successful kicking game. Those factors have helped Miami remain undefeated in tight games. This is another game that could have a close finish and that is right where the Dolphins would like things to be. While Miami is ranked 31st in points scored, it has held opponents to only 18.7 points a game this season.

Thursday's game will begin at 8:25 p.m.
