Two men are facing charges after they kidnapped a waitress who made sure they weren't dining and dashing from a restaurant in Miami, police said.
Leonel Lopez-Gonzalez, 46, and Fernando Rodriguez, 27, both face charges of kidnapping after the Monday incident at La Gran Parada Dominicana on NW 32nd Street, police said.
The waitress told police that she was serving both suspects, and then they got up and left without paying after eating and drinking, arrest reports stated. She followed them to their car and sat in the driver's rear passenger seat with the door open and her feet outside on the ground.
Rodriguez grabbed the waitress and pulled her further inside the vehicle, and Lopez drove off and sped away, the report says.
While inside the vehicle, the waitress said she begged and pleaded with the suspects to let her out, according to police. Rodriguez threatened her with a beer bottle when she tried to use her cellphone.
The suspects didn't stop until responding officers initiated a traffic stop, police said. Both were arrested and transported to jail.
Rodriguez faces additional charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, according to online court records. Both suspects are in jail under no bond for the kidnapping charges.
