Election Day for Parts of Miami-Dade

It's Election Day for some parts of Miami-Dade on Tuesday, and some voters may have new polling locations.

Miami-Dade recently made precinct changes in order to improve the voter experience, leaving some voters with new Election Day voting locations. More than 22,000 voters have already cast ballots via Absentee Ballot or Early Voting.

One of the most closely watched races in Tuesday's election is the Mayoral race for the City of Miami Beach.

Current Mayor Phillip Levine is being challenged by David Wieder, who has been critical of Levine's election campaign. A PAC connected to Levine has raised more than $1 million from developers and city vendors, which Wieder has referred to as "pay-for-play" politics.

Levine says he's focused on continued progress for the City of Miami Beach and addressing the issues pertinent to residents, including sea level rise, flooding, and traffic congestion.

Elections will take place in districts one and two only Tuesday. This includes Hialeah, Homestead, Miami Beach and the City of Miami.

Voters should have been notified by mail, but are encouraged to confirm their voting location before heading to the polls.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 7 p.m. Voters must bring identification that includes their photo and signature.

Voters who do not have an ID available will be asked to vote a provisional ballot.
