Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on I-95 in Miami-Dade: FHP

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened in the northbound express lanes of I-95 near Northwest 103rd Street.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said a vehicle cut into the express lanes and was rear-ended by the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected into the southbound express lanes and died at the scene, officials said.

The crash was causing some backups and delays as all express lanes were shut down. The area has since been cleared and reopened to traffic.

Authorities haven't released the name of the motorcyclist.

FHP is investigating the cause of the crash. No other information was immediately known.
