A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was hospitalized after their car was struck by a tow truck on Interstate 75 in Naples Monday morning.
The trooper was stopped in the emergency lane of westbound I-75 near mile marker 98 when the car was struck by the truck, FHP officials said.
The driver of the tow truck told authorities he fell asleep at the wheel, officials said. He was cited for careless driving, officials said.
The trooper was taken to a local hospital and later released. He was home recovering, officials said.
