Authorities are investigating a rash of car burglaries in Parkland that have resulted in at least five firearms being taken.
Since Feb. 7, at least seven car burglaries have been reported, with thieves walking driveway to driveway at night, pulling on car handles, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said Friday.
The thieves bypassed locked cars but entered unlocked ones, taking designer sunglasses, loose change, and firearms. Only one of the guns has been recovered.
Authorities want to remind residents to lock car doors and remove valuables. Anyone with information on the burglaries can also call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
