Florida Panther Found Dead on Road

Officials said the panther died due to a vehicle strike.

A Florida panther was found dead on State Road 80 on the line bordering Hendry and Lee Counties, according to wildlife officials.

The 3-year-old uncollared male panther was found Sunday, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The FWC said the cause of death was a vehicle strike.

This is the fifth panther to be struck and killed on Florida roads so far this year.
