Heat Fall to Spurs, Remain Winless at Home

The Heat fell to 0-2 on the season at home with their 106-99 loss to the Spurs on Sunday

The Miami Heat were beaten by the San Antonio Spurs by a final score of 106-99 on Sunday.

The loss was the second in a row for the Heat and also marked the team's second loss at home in two tries. Miami is 1-2 on the season overall with their the team's lone win coming in Orlando.

Even though the Heat ended up on the wrong end of the final score, the game was a close battle throughout. San Antonio is a title contending team and the Heat held their own. Miami did run into some foul trouble for a second straight game, which could have played a role in the loss.

Justise Winslow ended up with five personal fouls. The big man stayed in the game for 39 big minutes, but Winslow may have been slightly less aggressive due to the foul trouble. Winslow finished with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.

Hassan Whiteside picked up his third double-double of the season and has one in every game Miami has played. The center led Miami with 27 points to go along with 15 boards. Whiteside also added four blocks in an All-Star caliber effort.

Goran Dragic also played well with 25 points of his own. The guard had five assists and a steal as well. Dragic has been playing well thus far this season and has been dependable while leading Miami on the court.

The Heat will try again to win a home game when they host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
