Police responded to Hialeah Senior High School Wednesday morning as the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution, officials said.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials said police were investigating a claim that a student had a gun at the school on East 47th Street, but said officers didn't find anything and were lifting the lockdown.
One person was detained during the investigation, but officials haven't said why and said no one was taken into custody.
No other information was immediately known.
