Family Binder Dating Back to 1850s Found in Florida Keys

A binder containing historical documents from 1850's family was turned in to a Monroe County Sheriff's Office

A binder containing birth, marriage and death certificates from a family dating back to the 1850s was found in the Florida Keys.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said the historical binder was found at the corner of where Seahorse RV Park in Big Pine Key was prior to Hurricane Irma.

According to one of the pages on the binder, it belonged to the family of Fred Schaeffer Boyer, Sr. and Lillian Mae Fernandes.

“I’m sure there is someone, somewhere, missing it dearly as it looks irreplaceable,” said Deputy Seth Hopp.

Deputy Hopp added that there is also news articles related to the family in the binder.
