A Homestead man was arrested after police say he offered a 13-year-old girl a ride home from a bus stop then forced her to have sex with him.
Miguel Rodriguez, 30, was arrested early Tuesday on charges of sexual battery on a minor by an adult and lewd and lascivious exhibition on a child, according to a Miami-Dade Police arrest report.
Rodriguez appeared in court Tuesday where he was ordered held on $107,500 bond. He was also appointed a public defender.
The girl told police she was walking home from a bus stop last Tuesday when she was offered a ride by an unknown older man, Rodriguez, the report said.
While she was in his car, Rodriguez began to masturbate then drove her to a wooded area near Southwest 360th Street and Southwest 180th Avenue where he forced her to have sex with him, the report said.
The girl was able to pick Rodriguez out of a phone lineup, the report said. After he was arrested, he admitted to having sex with the victim, the report said.
