‘Islam Bloody Islam' Billboard Causes Controversy in St. Augustine Beach

A billboard in St. Augustine Beach that reads "Islam Bloody Islam" is causing some controversy and has led to an online petition.

"Islam Bloody Islam - Doomed by its doctrine!" reads the billboard across from a Publix on A1A, according to WTLV.

NBC 6 tried to reach the company who owns the billboard but their number had been changed.

Local resident Becky Williams started an online petition to have the billboard removed, saying it shows "hatred and intolerance."

"We should be outraged that a billboard with this message could in any way represent our community as a whole," the petition reads. "It is of the utmost importance that we stand against messages and movements that isolate, judge and threaten an entire sect of people who share our same hometown."
