Authorities extinguished an old semi-truck on fire on an island off Marathon, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.
A Boot Key Harbor fire engulfed the derelict truck and trash on the island Thursday afternoon and caused a large amount of smoke.
Fire rescue, who responded on a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission boat, arrived at the island when the fire had almost burned out.
No injuries were reported.
