Students at Lake Forest Elementary in Pembroke Park can remember a time when their library was a little worse for wear - with stained carpet and a worn out welcome.
But thanks to the Orange Bowl Media Center Makeover Project, the space has a fresh coat of paint (literally), along with new shelves and furniture.
It's a reward students had to compete against other schools for.
A video that made the case for the rennovation was submitted by Lake Forest Elementary. It revealed the poor condition the venue was in.
“What we wanted was a hub of learning where kids could come in, look at the information and talk about it," Principal Sharon Boyd says. "This now gives them a venue to do that.”
