Broward County has a new program that may help save you or a loved one's life the next time you're in an accident. It's as simple as putting a yellow sticker on your windshield.
If you're ever in a car accident, the first thing you want is help. Officials in Broward County are making sure that happens more readily by launching a program for you and first responders called Yellow Dot.
"The program that Broward County is now rolling out is free to the public and any Broward resident or motorist can request a yellow decal," said Broward County Mayor Marty Kiar.
The program has been in the works for a year and is now in place. Broward officials have modeled Yellow Dot after other similar programs in nearby counties.
A sticker can be issued for each family member and placed on your vehicle, and then pamphlets with your medical information go in the glove box.
"It's going to give us a heads up. So when we have a car accident, we already know where to go as far as looking for information," said Steffen Majer with Broward Fire Rescue.
