A Miami man was arrested and charged in a road rage incident where he allegedly threatened an off-duty officer with a handgun in Florida City.

The incident occurred Sunday near where U.S. Highway 1 and Card Sound Road intersect. Pedro Vichot, 58, was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly tailgated two people on a motorcycle for several miles, yelling obscenities, court documents state.

Vichot allegedly reached into his center console and pointed a 9 mm handgun at the victim's head. 

One of the people on motorcycle, it turns out, was an off-duty officer and detained Vichot until he was taken into custody, the arrest form states.

Vichot, who does not have a criminal history, had his gun seized and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
