Man Arrested After Stealing Car From Fort Lauderdale Dealership, Crashing in Miramar

An early morning car chase caused chaos in one South Florida area after police tried to stop a man who allegedly stole a car from a Fort Lauderdale dealership.

Police responded to a call shortly after 5:30 a.m. saying a man was stealing a car from the Mercedes-Benz dealership located at 2411 South Federal Highway.

As the vehicle was leaving the lot, police confronted the driver and the chase started. It ended when the driver crashed into a bush near the intersection of Pembroke Road and University Drive in Miramar, where the suspect attempted to flee.

26-year-old Carlos Robinson of Miami Gardens was taken into custody. He has been charged with business burglary and auto theft, and possible additional charges are pending.
