Man Breaks Into Day Care Center, Bolts Out Empty-Handed

A day care center in Northwest Miami-Dade was struck again by burglars. The latest strike happened early Friday morning and the crime was captured on crystal-clear surveillance video.

Footage showed a backpack being tossed through a window at It's a Small World Learning Center, before a man crawled in and walked over the shattered glass. The burglar oddly looked around the classroom and then bolted through the front door.

The owner of the day care told NBC 6 nothing was stolen during the break-in. However, this was not the first time the facility was targeted.

"I would say in the last 17 years at least 20, 17 to 20 times, and in the last two months, it's happened twice," said Mayra Quevedo, owner of It's a Small World Learning Center.

The shattered window the burglar entered through was immediately repaired.

"The only people that are being affected is the kids," said Quevedo.

If anyone recognizes the burglar, please call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
