Police are searching for the driver of a tractor-trailer who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in northwest Miami-Dade Monday.
Miami-Dade Police say 62-year-old Arturo Martin was struck and killed by the semi-tractor-trailer in the area of Northwest 36th Street and Northwest 72nd Avenue shortly before 11 a.m.
The driver of the tractor-trailer fled "without rendering aid or providing information," police said.
Family members said Martin was on a moped and delivering for Uber Eats when he was struck.
"Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this horrible tragedy, Uber said in a statement Tuesday. "We stand ready to support the law enforcement investigation and hope the person responsible will come forward and be identified by police."
Police are looking for the driver and the truck, which has a white and red trailer with the word "Logistics" on the side. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
