Man Threatened to Kill Boy if He Didn't Perform Sex Act: Margate Police

A 33-year-old Fort Lauderdale man accused of threatening to kill a 12-year-old boy unless he performed a sex act on him is facing a sexual battery charge, police said.

Morris Cornelius Thomas, 33, was arrested Monday on an arrest warrant from the Margate Police Department, authorities said.

Officials said Thomas coerced the young victim to perform a sexual act on him by threatening to kill him if the victim did not submit.

Prosecutors said there was surveillance footage that placed Thomas at the scene where the incident happened, and said there was also DNA evidence.

Thomas was booked into the Broward jail, where he remained held without bond Tuesday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
