Police are looking for a man who they say shot and killed his estranged wife.
Joe Louis Padgett, 54, is wanted in the killing of 46-year-old Katrina C. Padgett, Miami-Dade Police said Wednesday. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Police said Katrina Padgett was at the home of her mother, 69-year-old Sophia Cheeks, when she was confronted by her estranged husband Sunday night.
During the argument, Joe Padgett pulled out a gun and shot at both women, hitting Katrina Padgett several times, police said. Cheeks wasn't injured.
Joe Padgett fled the scene. Police are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
