Manhunt Underway for Suspect After Crash Outside Police Officer's Kendall Home

Police officers stormed into a quiet South Florida neighborhood early Tuesday morning after a suspicious driver set off an hours-long manhunt. The driver got away, but not before doing some damage.

The loud sound of a crash woke up residents in the Kendall neighborhood. When they looked outside, there was a three-car pile up in a police officer's driveway.

"The cars, I mean, it was flipped over one of them and another one touching another one," explained Bryan Lindsay, neighbor.

Miami-Dade Police said officers working a detail in the area spotted a suspicious vehicle and attempted to stop the driver. The man did not stop and struck the vehicles outside the officer's home.

According to officials, the man bailed out of a silver Tahoe. Police set up a perimeter and patrolled in the air and on the ground.

"They had German Shepherds, Blood Hounds, so I felt pretty secure. They combed the area pretty good," another neighbor added.

Neighbors were on edge during the hours-long manhunt. Many said investigators searched their homes for the person on the run.

Anyone with information on the suspect at large is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
