Miami-Dade Officers Honored for Saving Bicyclist's Life

Their dramatic lifesaving efforts were caught on camera

The Miami-Dade Police Department is recognizing three officers for their efforts in saving the life of a bicyclist who went into cardiac arrest.

Officers Beatriz Perez, Miguel Siverio and Jose Martinez's quick actions helped save the cyclist's life after he collapsed while riding his bike at Amelia Earhart Park earlier this month. Their dramatic lifesaving efforts were caught on camera.

His friends called 911 and Perez was able to give them instructions on how to perform CPR. Siverio and Martinez responded to the scene and managed to regain his pulse and keep him stable until he was brought to a hospital.

The department is honoring the officers at a ceremony Thursday.
