A Miami Police officer was rushed to the hospital after being involved in a two-car crash early Wednesday morning.

Rescue crews arrived at the scene near Southwest 2nd Street and 17th Avenue in Little Havana around 3:30 a.m.

Miami Police tweeted later in the morning that the officer was taken to Ryder Trauma Center with a possible broken arm, but was in stable condition.

The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries, but officials did not give an update on their condition or if they were hospitalized as well.

Officials did not release information on the crash, but did say that Southwest 17th Avenue between 1st and 3rd Streets remained closed in both directions during their investigation.
