Just back from the Capitol, 2nd Lt. Brittany Ramos still can't believe what she witnessed – the president's State of the Union address.
"It really was life-changing for me," Lt. Ramos said. "It really was an incredible moment for me to sit there."
Minutes after President Obama's speech, Army Lt. Ramos said the address was "moving to see in person."
Lt. Ramos also toured the White House and Capitol buildings – taking pictures along the way.
She did it all as a guest of Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The 22-year-old was selected for making the Commandant's List – being in the top 20 percent of her basic officer leader course.
"It was a lot of right place, right time on my end," Lt. Ramos said. "I know the congresswoman wanted to remind the public that the armed forces are still out there, still fighting – still in the fight, and that it's not over."
Lt. Ramos graduated from the University of Miami last May. Next month, she will deploy for Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

"I don't know if there is a better sendoff because it's very grounding – reminding you what we are fighting for," she said.
