The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said one of their own deputies was arrested early Saturday morning, accused of driving under the influence.
Jon Doughtry, 23, was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol around 1:30 a.m. after he was involved in an accident at mile marker 9 while heading northbound.
He was booked into jail, and released shortly after noon, after he attended a first-appearance hearing.
FHP charged Doughtry with driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol with damage to property.
Sheriff's office officials said Doughtry works at the Key West Courthouse. He has been suspended without pay pending a review of the case.
It is unclear whether Doughtry has an attorney.
