Aventura Mall revealed Monday its new expansion wing months after it closed the popular food court to undergo construction.
The new wing, located on the east side of the mall, will be a massive three-story space with new stores, restaurants, a new food hall, VIP lounge and a massive sculpture that shoppers can slide down.
Developers said the design of the new wing is both indoors and outdoors.
One of the big stores expected to open in the new wing is British Brand Topshop. It will be the retailer’s first store in South Florida. Also, the popular Zara store is slated to return to Aventura Mall in the new wing. Zara comes back with a massive 34,000 square foot, two-level store.
The new wing will also feature a 93-foot tubular called Aventura Slide Tower. Shoppers will be able to slide down the sculpture. The mall is also adding more art installations in the new wing.
The new Treats Food Hall will be on the third level and will feature more than a dozen “purveyors.” The mall says Treats Food Hall will not be you average food court. It will include communal seating, including swings and shared bar tables.
A VIP Lounge, located in a rooftop terrace, will include a pool table, TVs and a dining and bar area.
“Our vision is to create a new gathering place where local residents and international guests can connect with an array of interactive experiences,” said Jackie Soffer, Co-Chair and CEO of Turnberry Associates, owner and manager of Aventura Mall. “The new wing is destined to become one of South Florida’s most dynamic spaces.”
