Bodycam Shows Confrontation Between Masked Man, North Miami Officers

New bodycam video shows the dramatic confrontation between police officers and a masked man carrying a weapon on a busy South Florida roadway -- a scene that could have come straight from a Halloween horror movie.

North Miami officers responded on April 9 to the area of 125th Street after numerous people called 911 reporting that a man -- dressed in a vest, gloves, an American flag printed mask and a white wig -- appeared ready to do a lot of harm.

In the bodycam video released Tuesday, the officers are seen confronting the masked man, telling him to put his hands up and to get down on the ground. The man complies.

"It's a BB gun," the man is heard telling the officers.

"I don't want to hear it," an officer said.

The officers put the man on the ground to handcuff him, and he tells them again that he has a BB gun.

"They don't give a f---," someone responds.

The man surrenders, and officers later found out he was carrying a BB gun.

NBC 6 is not identifying the man because he was Baker Acted.
