Usually it's the four-legged cops that sniff out drugs, but a Miami cop's sensitive nose led to a major bust.
The cop was actually investigating a phone call that there was a burglary in the area, but when he got to the neighborhood, his nostrils picked up a pretty familiar scent in the Miami heat - marijuana.
But the cop's olfactory nerves could tell that the odor wasn't emitting from a single cigarette. The force was strong with this one.
So the unnamed cop followed his nose to a nearby house where he discovered 85 mature marijuana plants and a "fully operational hydroponics lab," reports the Miami Herald.
No one was home at the time of the find, but police said they are close to an arrest.
As for the officer, he deserves a medal for keeping his nose to the grind stone(d).
