A prominent Miami-Dade school is advising parents there is no need for worry after a social media threat was found over the weekend.

Parents of students at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Southwest Miami-Dade received an email from the school’s principal, Jose Roca, and school president Fr. Guillermo Garcia-Tunon saying officials became aware of a threat made, but did not give details about it.

Officials say that authorities were contacted and the situation was resolved, and the school will be open as normal on Monday.

The unknown threat is the latest in South Florida in the wake of the mass school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland on February 14th.
