Mother’s Day is right around the corner and thanks to Carrfour Supportive Housing, mother Courtney Hill has a lot to be thankful for.
“Oh gosh, Mother’s Day, I feel great now," Hill said. "This year I'm ecstatic about it.”
Two years ago, the educated mother of four lost everything when her husband left the family and she lost her job, leaving her homeless.
“I was just devastated, I had no clue which direction to go," Hill said.
For one month, Courtney was pregnant with twins and taking care of two teenagers all while living inside a car.

But now she is living in a four bedroom, two bathroom home at the Verde Green Community in Homestead.
Anthea Pennant is Carrfour’s director of fund development and she’s proud to see Courtney and her family happy and on the path to self-sufficiency.
“Because when you are able to save a mother with children, not only are you saving that mother you’re saving a whole generation,” Pennant said.
Now Courtney and her kids are back in school. She’s running the kids' camp across the street from her house and she’s making it her mission to spend as much time as she can with her kids, showing them that when that even you you hit rock bottom, you can still pick yourself back up.
