‘Operation Heatwave': Feds Raid NE Miami-Dade Home in Guns, Opioid Operation

Police said the operation has resulted in 11 arrests and the seizure of possible marijuana, heroin and cash

Federal officials raided a home Thursday afternoon in northeast Miami-Dade as a part of an operation targeting illegal opioids and guns.

Police and FBI agents investigated a home on Northeast 115th Street as a part of a police investigation called "Operation Heatwave."

Agents were put in hazmat suits as a precautionary measure because the opioid could possibly be fentanyl, according to Miami-Dade police.

A woman was taken into custody at the scene. Officials haven't released any information on her identity or involvement with the investigation.
