Deputies in Palm Beach rescued a woman with Alzheimer's disease who walked away from her home and was discovered in a canal Monday.
Ivonne Fernandez, 67, left her Boynton Beach home around 11:45 a.m., Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office officials said.
Deputies later found her in a canal and rescued her. The sheriff's office posted photos on social media of Fernandez being carried out of the canal.
"We found Ivonne Fernandez in a canal and our Deputies rescued her. We are happy to report she is safe now. #PBSOProud," the sheriff's office said in a tweet.
