A potentially scary situation took place inside a Hollywood hospital after the air conditioning went out on several floors of the building.
Officials at Memorial Regional Hospital South say the facility at 3600 Washington Street lost air conditioning on two of the six floors shortly before 10 a.m.
In a statement, a hospital spokesperson said all affected patients were moved to other floors where the AC was working and all are in good condition while crews work to fix the problem.
The incident comes less than one year after more than a dozen people died after the air conditioning went out at a Hollywood nursing home following Hurricane Irma – a move that prompted a change in state law requiring facilities to have the proper equipment in place to handle power outages or the loss of air conditioning.
