Residents in the Village of Pinecrest have until Tuesday to vote on a controversial water referendum affecting hundreds of homes.

More than 730 homes have no access to county water and are currently using well water. The village began a special election on the issue earlier this month and residents have until Tuesday to cast their votes.

To complete the infrastructure, more than 18 miles of water line and 208 fire hydrants need to be built. The move would cost about $15 billion in bonds.
