Plantation Police Looking for 2 Motel Purse Snatchers

Officials are looking for two men who forcefully took a woman's purse at a Plantation motel last week.

Authorities have released surveillance footage of a strong-arm robbery at a motel in Plantation.

Two suspects, thought to be about 16 to 18-years-old, forcefully took a woman's purse at the Amble Inn at 790 South State Road 7 last week, according to a Plantation Police Department news release.

The woman fell to the ground and the suspects fled in a small red vehicle, the release said.

"From the video all I can tell you is that she was walking back to her motel and they came back behind her and snatched her purse," Detective Philip Toman said. "I know the purse was found late yesterday afternoon, maybe a few blocks away from here. I'm not sure but I think money was taken out but not sure what else."

Detectives said the two suspects were dropped off at the motel where the victim lives with her fiance. Surveillance video shows a car drop the two people off, back into a spot and wait.

Police are searching for the two suspects and a driver. Anyone with information on the robbery is urged to call the Plantation Police Department at 954-797-2100 or anonymously through Broward Crime Stoppers at 866-493-TIPS (8477).
