A drive-by shooting at a Westview home left one person dead and another hospitalized early Saturday morning.
The house is located on the 12800 block of Northwest 18th Court, near Westview Middle School. According to police, they arrived at the scene around 4:25 a.m. to find one woman and one teen male suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were transported to the hospital, where the woman was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed the incident to have been a drive-by shooting. Video from the scene obtained by NBC 6 shows bullet holes in some of the house's windows.
Officers have not yet said whether they are searching for suspects. The Miami-Dade Police Department's Homicide Bureau detectives have picked up the investigation.
