Police in Florida City are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was shot Monday night.
The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. near 13th Street and Northwest 8th Avenue, Florida City Police said.
Paramedics airlifted 14-year-old Martwan Santiago to Miami Children's Hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit Tuesday, officials said.
Police said witnesses told them the shooting may be gang-related.
Detectives are investigating the shooting.
