Police Looking for Man Behind Sexual Battery in Fort Lauderdale

Police are looking for a man who sexually battered a woman outside a Fort Lauderdale apartment complex.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of Middle River Drive, Fort Lauderdale Police said.

According to police, the woman was walking in the area when she was approached by the suspect, who tackled her and sexually battered her on the front lawn of the complex, next to a road. The suspect then fled the scene.

Officers responded and found the victim, who was taken to the Nancy J. Cotterman Sexual Assault Treatment Center for medical evaluation.

Police released a sketch of the alleged rapist, who is described as a white male, about 4-45 years old, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-0 with a large build. He has a tattoo on the lower right leg possibly of an oriental theme, police said.
