Morning Gas Leak in Stifles Morning Commute in Downtown Miami

A reported gas leak in Miami on Wednesday morning caused traffic woes for those looking to get around the city.

Miami-Dade Transit announced the leak at Southwest 7th Street and 8th Street between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue. 

Miami Police tweeted that SW 8th Street has been reopened, but SW 7th Street remans closed at this time. 

The reported gas leak caused limited service in the metrorails morning commute, but Miami-Dade Transit announced on Twitter that regular rail service is resuming with residual delays. 

Officials urge commuters to seek alternative routes while the cause of the gas leak is unknown.
