The reward for clues leading to the arrest of a murderer who gunned down a U.S. Postal worker as he made his rounds in Biscayne Gardens in December has been doubled again.
Authorities are offering $100,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the slaying of 60-year-old Bruce Parton.
On Monday, Dec. 6, the long time letter carrier was killed at the parking lot of the Monte Carlo Apartment Complex located at 496 Northwest 165th Street in North Miami-Dade.
According to detectives, the suspect shot Parton and then stole his mail truck. Witnesses say he drove it for a short distance before taking off on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall, long dreadlocks, 25-30 years old, who was wearing all black with a red jacket.
Parton's daughter Nina made a public plea Tuesday for witnesses to come forward to help crack the case. The reward started out at $25,000 in early December before it was doubled later in the month.
