The devil is apparently alive and well, living on the streets in Port St. Lucie and attacking people outside convenience stores.
Satan revealed himself yesterday in the form of 53-year-old John Eugene Yale Jr., a homeless Treasure Coast man with a short temper.
Police say Yale began speaking with a man outside a convenience store, then suddenly attacked the man, shoving his thumbs into the victim's eyes, causing them to bleed.
During the fracas, Yale shouted, "I am the Devil and I am going to kill you."
The prince of darkness was charged with aggravated battery and was being held on $20,000 bail.
