SeaWorld Unveils Float for Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

SeaWorld unveiled a new float that will debut at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

SeaWorld announced Tuesday that a new float will debut at the 87th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The 32 foot-long float, named “A Sea of Surprises” will feature sculptures of sea creatures including turtles, penguins, whales, sharks and more.

SeaWorld’s legendary Shamu will be in the spotlight as a large sculpture will breach 27 feet over parade spectators in New York City.

A celebrity performer, who is set to be announced soon, will be aboard the float. The parade is scheduled to stop in front of the Macy’s flagship store where a song will be performed live, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

“We are thrilled to debut our SeaWorld “A Sea of Surprises” float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as a tribute to SeaWorld’s 50th celebration,” said Jim Atchison, President and CEO of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

The 87th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcasted live on NBC 6 on Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
