Smelly, Aggressive, Destructive: Peacocks Causing Issues in Coral Gables

A South Florida neighborhood plagued with peacocks is divided over how to deal with the birds.

The Miami Herald reports that residents of one part of Coral Gables have gotten into verbal arguments and fistfights over the peafowl, which are loud, destructive and aggressive - not to mention they poop everywhere.

Trouble is, nobody from Miami-Dade County, the city or the state seems to know what to do about them because Miami is considered a bird sanctuary and county law prohibits tampering with eggs or trapping and removing peafowl unless they are transferred to a protected place.

Some people love the peafowl and feed them - which also stretches some neighbors' nerves to the breaking point.
