A sonic boom that shook areas of central Florida was the result of a military mission that ended at Kennedy Space Center.
The U.S. Air Force announced Sunday morning that the X-37B unmanned mini-space shuttle successfully landed after returning from orbit.
"The #AirForce #X37B #OTV4 has returned from orbit and has landed safely @NASAKennedy," the Air Force tweeted.
This is the fourth mission conducted by the military research program. The shuttle returned Sunday after being in orbit for more than 700 days, according to the Air Force.
The X-37B is a smaller version of NASA's X-37 space shuttle. The unmanned shuttle launches vertically and lands horizontally, is reusable, and has lots of room for experiments.
