South Dade High IT Tech Accused of Lewd Acts With Boy, 15

Victor Brantley, 45, was arrested Tuesday

An IT tech at South Dade Senior High School is facing charges after police say he engaged in lewd acts with a 15-year-old boy he met on the internet.

Victor Brantley, 45, was arrested Tuesday on charges including lewd and lascivious battery, electronic transmission of child pornography, and prohibited use of a computer service, according to an arrest report.

The report said Brantley and the teen engaged in a chat on Grindr on Saturday, then started communicating on the Kik platform, discussing sex acts. At one point, Brantley requested the teen send a nude photo of himself, and the teen complied, while Brantley sent the teen a photo of his genitals, the report said.

Brantley arranged to pick the teen up at the teen's home, and took him back to his home where they engaged in sex acts, the report said.

Brantley was arrested and booked into jail. Attorney information wasn't available.

"The allegations against this individual are inexcusable and shameful," Miami-Dade County Public Schools said in a statement. "Employees are routinely familiarized with School Board policy and kept apprised of any updates—especially where employee-student interactions are concerned. In line with our zero-tolerance guiding principles against inappropriate behavior with students, the district has initiated employment termination proceedings. This employee will also be prevented from seeking future employment with Miami-Dade County Public Schools."
