South Florida Woman Who Threw Hot Water in Supervisor's Face Gets Year Behind Bars

A South Florida woman accused of throwing hot water in her manager's face after she was fired last year was sentenced to a year behind bars Wednesday.

Jondre Thomas, 34, received the sentence at a hearing Wednesday in Broward County. She had been charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm in the February 2018 incident.

Officials said Thomas, an employee of the 595 Truck Stop in Davie, threw scalding hot water in the face of supervisor Claudio Salcedo after she was confronted about stealing money from the business.

Salcedo suffered second degree facial burns as a result of the incident. His eye was also injured in the attack.
